创作背景
《Halo》是美国摇滚乐队“共和时代”主唱瑞恩·泰德为碧昂丝·吉赛尔·诺斯创作的一首歌曲，在写作期间，E·基德·博加特建议瑞恩·泰德将雷·拉蒙塔涅的歌曲《Shelter》作为创作灵感，去写一首这种类型的歌曲，瑞恩·泰德采纳了他的建议。在此之前，瑞恩·泰德并没有和碧昂丝·吉赛尔·诺斯沟通，因为他不知道碧昂丝·吉赛尔·诺斯是否要录唱这首歌曲[1]。
所以，瑞恩·泰德试着将歌曲推荐给丽安娜·刘易斯的制作团队，但是丽安娜·刘易斯本人并没有多余的时间来唱这首歌曲，这件事也就不了了之了。最后，瑞恩·泰德不愿再等下了，他还是选择把《Halo》交给碧昂丝·吉赛尔·诺斯录唱。碧昂丝·吉赛尔·诺斯与丈夫JAY-Z在听完该歌曲的和弦旋律后，将歌曲取名为“Halo”，并花了三个小时将歌词写完[2]。

歌曲MV
《Halo》共有两个版本的音乐视频，第一版视频拍摄于2008年11月下旬，视频的拍摄地点选在纽约苏荷区的一处别墅。该版MV描绘了男女主人公在家中的幸福生活，男主角由迈克尔·伊雷扮演。此外，碧昂丝在MV中所跳的那段舞蹈是为了向电影《闪电舞》致敬，制作完毕的MV于2008年12月23日通过iTunes商店首发。第二版视频出现于2010年5月底，MV的画面以仰视的角度向观众呈现出一片寂静的树林夜空，每一个画面中的光线都形成了鲜明的对比，迈克尔·伊雷在视频中扮演一个被警察追捕的窃贼，该版MV也穿插了原版MV中的一些镜头，MV的结尾则是以碧昂丝发现窃贼气绝身亡的画面结束。
